“ Mindfulness is awareness that arises through paying attention, on purpose, in the present moment, non-judgementally, It’s about knowing what is in your mind ”

                                                                                                                Jon-Kabat Zinn

Why it is important to cultivate mindfulness

There is  a significant amount of information that goes unnoticed when one is not fully engaged with the here and now, or when one jumps to conclusions about the state of things based on personal preconceptions. Once missed, these observations are impossible to recover after the event, yet can sharpen self-insight and decision making if acquired. Mindfulness, then, is further characterised by an acceptance of reality in an open, non-judgmental way. It translates into openness to novelty, sensitivity to different contexts and consideration for multiple perspectives (Langer,1997).
